The DCS60 system is a crane operator aid for the management in 3D of interferences with static and mobile obstacles on jobsites.

The DCS60 system was designed with a divided intelligence for the parallel treatment and the mutual control of the different parts of the system. A periodical or manual test of sensors is integrated into the system to meet the requirements of the new normative context (the Norm EN14439, Annex 2). In addition, the system offers a better stopping precision, with use of the centimeter as counting unit and thanks to a higher calculation frequency.

The DCS60 anti-collision system, designed as a universal system, can be fitted to all types of cranes – static or travelling, relay or PLC controlled, with saddle or luffing jib – to manage in 3D interferences between up to 125 machines, tower cranes and/or mobile cranes, on the same site.

Programming the DCS60 is extremely intuitive and is carried out remotely (at the crane foot). The programming device is a light but rugged PDA, compact, very ergonomic and shock resistant. All ongoing sites are listed in the programming device and information logged for better monitoring nd rapid and efficient interventions. Any company, with trained technicians, will be able to follow all past and current sites and have access to all related information.

Zone Protection

Construction sites are often bounded by public areas such as highways, railway tracks and schools, or specific hazards such as overhead power lines. The DCS60 integrates a « zone protection » function, which prevents the load carried by the crane from over-sailing these critical areas.

The system can draw zones with different geometries (polygons, lines, cones or circles), allowing cranes to work with minimum restrictions. These so called « prohibited zones » are set up when installing the systems and can be changes at any time when required.

Collision Avoidance

Wherever a site employs more than just a single crane and one crane jib over-sails the jib or counter-jib of another, there is a risk of collision. The DCS60 system was designed to provide fully automatic collision prevention. It prevents cranes from colliding with all other potentially interfering cranes.

Each interfering crane must be equipped with a system. As a crane approaches another one, the anti-collision system identifies accurately the possibility of a collision, calculates the point at which action is required to avoid the collision, and take appropriate action.

Display for Crane Operator

The crane operator enjoys a 2D representation of the crane in its environment. Thanks to a colour 8,4″ SVGA screen, very ergonomic, he can see at a glance, very clearly important parameters and precise information on the position and evolution of each crane (as the trolley evolution along the jib, the jib rotation around the mast, or the height under hook).

The displays shows also information relative to crane environment such as time, wind speed, sensitive site areas (such as schools, railway tracks or power lines) as well as other site cranes. Other information visible concerns crane state, other interfering cranes and anti-collision systems.

Site Supervision

Real management tool, the DCS60SUP supervisor enables, thanks to a web browser, from anywhere and at anytime, to access all displayed information in real time.

The DCS60SUP can supervise up to 60 cranes and logs all events related to crane positions (slewing, trolley, travelling, radius…) and anti-collision systems: overrides, failures (radios, trolley…), power up / down, free slewing, wind speed…

Site supervisors and administrators can use another tool: remote neutralization. This feature allows remote neutralization, independently, of prohibited zone or anti-collision systems. This is invaluable when it is necessary to temporarily disable a prohibited area, but, in such situations, anti-collision management is maintained.

For better and clearer consultation, the DCS60 user can zoom and navigate vertically and horizontally on the site plan. Data can be accessed directly through the DCS60SUP or remotely by internet and can also be downloaded as an EXCEL© compatible file thanks to a USB key.
